Editor, Digital Content – Boulder, CO
The Editor, Digital Content develops and manages a strategic plan for all digital content within the Skram Media group of magazines. He/She seamlessly integrates efforts of print editors as they expand their digital efforts, and create most important digital properties in each industry. He/She applies the latest trends in “social media” to our site, and keeps our brands on top of/ahead of trends in digital content.
Responsibilities:
- Maintaining (creating, aggregating) fresh, on-target content on Web sites.
- Constantly analyzing website metrics to see what content resonates.
- Optimizing website content for search.
- Creating and organizing e-newsletters content.
- Conceiving and creating custom digital content opportunities.
- Responsible for day-to-day operations of web sites for each magazine:
- Regularly create on-target content.
- Integrate brands’ content onto sites.
- Monitor site traffic and develop ways to increase traffic.
- Web exclusive material produced by edit staff.
- Repurposed print articles.
- News/press releases.
- Polls and contests.
- Special projects in support of sales or editorial initiatives.
- Moderate discussion forums.
- Provide material or talking points about web for magazines as needed.
- Work with editors in implementing schedule for adding new web content.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, eMedia or related field.
Two years of experience in managing web content, including experience with basic HTML and photo manipulation, required.
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, required.
Excellent project management skills required.
Experience with the Krang CMS a plus but not required.
Experience or exposure to the climbing and/or outdoor industry a plus.
